"And" is a function word to indicate a connection or an addition and to join members or proposals. The project's one of the main goals was to establish a network among the new generation of contemporary Georgian artists who live and work in Tbilisi, Georgia. Cleaning out the rubble and working together in a space, which used to be a former school, we are giving a new function to the abandoned building. And even though, this building is connected to a working part of a public school through a bridge, it seems to have lost all of its connection to inhabitants nearby. Therefore, as a gesture, not to intimidate inhabitants in the area and invite them to see the group show, we set up a feast and made a traditional stew Chakapuli on-site. About my site-specific installation I Grew Up Here: it features children's chalk drawings on the floor of one of the main rooms in the former school building. After the drawings were completed, I placed a grid of used syringes that I found while cleaning out the overall space. The imagery of the work overstates the childhood memories of playground landscapes in order to emphasize the environment of our recent past.
