Mirroring investigates how image-making shapes perception by reflecting which perspectives are preserved and which are overlooked. Through the lens of motherhood, the work examines the internal tension between two modes of working and living, questioning whether presence in one sphere implies absence in another. Three silver jewelry pieces, a set of teeth grills, press-on nails, and a bague foi ring (1838–1888) from the Musée des Civilisations de l’Europe et de la Méditerranée (MuCEM) in Marseille, function as characters and reflective surfaces. Moving between interior and exterior footage from home, studio, and the artist’s immediate surroundings, the video constructs a projection of daily life, revealing two hearts contained in one, or one heart split in two.
